Gervasio Gallardo
The artist was born in 1934 in Barcelona, Spain. Known as a producer of surrealistic paintings, covers for fantastic books. Gallardo studied in Spain, worked in several Spanish advertising agencies before moving to Munich, Germany in 1959. The next four years he worked at the Delpire agency in Paris, before traveling with the United States in 1963. It was here that he met Frank and Jeff Lavaty, who represent his works to this day. In 1969, on behalf of Ballantine Books, he created a cover for the Fantasy series of adults. In 1976, Bantam Books published the publication The Fantastic World by Gervasio Gallardo. Eventually Gallardo returned to Barcelona to create his own studio. He won many awards in Europe and the US, exhibited his work in Paris, Barcelona, the United States.
